When Can United Make Move for Sane?

German outlet Bild’s journalist Christian Falk has reported that the Red Devils have shown an interest in the possible signing of Bayern Munich winger in 2025. He adds that they have “already inquired about him” after realising that the winger’s contract with the Bundesliga heavyweights expires at the end of June, 2025.

Sane is going to become a free agent next summer unless able to agree on a new contract with Bayern Munich. Falk also claims that Arsenal have him on their wishlist and are ready to make a move for the 28-year-old if he really becomes available on a free transfer. The journalist also states that the German winger is going to wait for negotiations with the Bavarian club before making a decision on whether he wants to stay with them for the long-term or move elsewhere next year.

What Can Sane Potentially Bring to United?

The Red Devils are likely interested in a move to sign Sane to add more depth to their frontline, especially in the wide areas. They have experienced a tough start to the 2024/25 Premier League season, only scoring nine goals in ten games so far; they are looking for an experienced winger who can also score goals.

Sane gained a lot of his reputation thanks to his heroics with Manchester City. He made 135 appearances for them, in which he managed 82 goal contributions (39 goals, 43 assists), winning two Premier Leagues and an FA Cup title with them before joining Bayern in 2020. He’s struggled to tap into his very best at Bayern and has not been able to nail down a starting role under Vincent Kompany this season. Sane has only started one game in the ongoing campaign, scoring three goals in 10 overall appearances. Despite that, he is well renowned for his impressive pace, dribbling ability and knack for contributing goals, as United will hope he rejects a new contract with Bayern and joins them next year.
