He adds that the Spanish club considers Casado to be an “untouchable” member of the squad after his impressive rise under Hansi Flick’s system. The journalist also states that both the head coach as well as sporting director Deco see him as a key part of the current project.
It’s further claimed that Barcelona had also inserted an £83 million release clause when Casado signed a new long-term contract with the club in June, 2024. Which will make it tough for any team to sign him anytime soon.
How Has Casado Performed So Far This Season?
The 21-year-old midfielder has become a pivotal part of Barcelona’s midfield shape under Flick and has started in eight of their 12 La Liga matches so far in this campaign. He has mostly played in the midfield pivot as a no.8, but can also play deeper in a defensive midfield position to help his side.

Casado has provided three assists in 10 league games for his side, which included a great assist in the major win over Real Madrid at the Santiago Bernabeu. He was hailed as “classy” for his role in Barcelona’s thrashing of the reigning Champions League winners, proving to be the club’s breakout star of the season with his impressive passing ability and defensive qualities. He’s as good as a regular starter for the La Liga heavyweights and they have no plans to offload him anytime soon.
