Manchester United Predicted Lineup vs West Ham United

Manchester United players defend corne vs Brentford

Manchester United travel to London this weekend to face Julen Lopetegui’s West Ham United, hoping to build on last weekend’s league win over Brentford and put yet another disappointing Europa League outing behind them. The Red Devils came away from Turkey with a third successive European draw after a hard-fought 90 minutes against Jose Mourinho’s Fenerbahce on Thursday evening. Kick off for the Hammers clash is 2pm on Sunday, October 27 at London Stadium. Here is your Manchester United predicted lineup for the clash.

How Manchester United Have Lined-Up Recently

Lining up in a 4-2-3-1 formation, André Onana has been a mainstay in goal for the Red Devils. The starting back four has been Noussair Mazraoui (who played as an experimental number 10 in Thursday’s draw), Matthijs de Ligt, Lisandro Martinez and Diogo Dalot. The latter two were the full backs in Turkey, with an injury to Jonny Evans allowing Victor Lindelof to come in at centre-back alongside De Ligt.

In midfield, Manuel Ugarte and Casemiro have been rotating in alongside Christian Eriksen in place of the injured Kobbie Mainoo, whilst in attacking midfield Alejandro Garnacho, Bruno Fernandes (suspended on Thursday) and Marcus Rashford have been the main starters behind Rasmus Hojlund. Joshua Zirkzee got the nod against Fenerbahce, with Amad Diallo and Antony coming on as substitutes.

Manchester United Recent Form and Tactics

Manchester United secured a much needed win over Brentford last weekend, a victory that will alleviate pressure on Ten Hag following a torrid start to the season in which the Red Devils won just two of their opening six games.

That poor form, coupled with three stalemates in the Europa League that have seen the side squander six points from winning positions, has put the spotlight firmly back on the Dutchman as we head into a crucial period of Premier League games.

This season has seen Manchester United move away from a transition-based approach, with manager Ten Hag opting to build from the back and through midfield. Whilst the defence has been relatively solid, with new signings Noussair Mazraoui and Matthijs De Ligt impressing, a lack of creativity and line-breaking passing in midfield has rendered the team somewhat toothless going forward, the Red Devils having scored just seven times in seven league games until now.

Manchester United Injuries to Consider Vs Fenerbahce

Mason Mount (Knock) and Tyrell Malacia (Knee) are doubtful for the clash. Harry Maguire (Calf) and Kobbie Mainoo (Thigh) are out for a couple of weeks and a month respectively. Antony picked up an ankle injury on Thursday night, the extent of which is as yet unknown, whilst Lény Yoro (Ankle) is expected back next month. Luke Shaw has returned to individual training but will need a few more weeks following a long layoff. Jonny Evans faces a late fitness test after recovering from a knock that kept him out of European action midweek.
