Tottenham Hotspur picked up some much-needed momentum with their 4-1 win over West Ham United in the Premier League at the weekend and are looking to improve their consistency. There has now been an interesting update on the future of defender Radu Dragusin.

What Did Dragusin’s Agent Have To Say?
The Romanian centre-back has not been able to establish a regular starting role in Ange Postecoglou’s system and seems to be behind Cristian Romero and Micky van de Ven in the pecking order. His agent, Florian Manea was questioned on whether the defender was thinking of moving elsewhere next year due to his lack of regular game-time.

He told FootballItalia: “No player is happy if they don’t play much, but he wants to fight for his place. We’ll see how many matches he plays and evaluate later; right now, it’s premature to think about a transfer.” This comes amid some reports that linked Dragusin to a potential return to Serie A with Inter Milan, though it doesn’t look like he’s thinking of leaving Spurs anytime soon after only joining them from Genoa in the 2024 January transfer window.
How Has Dragusin’s Spurs Career Gone So Far?
After joining the Lilywhites in the winter transfer window last season, Dragusin needed some time to adapt to his new environment at Spurs. He made nine appearances under Postecoglou in the 2023/24 campaign, helping them keep two clean sheets in the Premier League during that time.

The 22-year-old has found it hard to become a regular in the Tottenham team at the beginning of the 2024/25 campaign, as he’s only been restricted to four appearances so far. That includes two appearances as a substitute in the league and just one full game in the Carabao Cup. He’s finding it hard to outperform Romero or Van de Ven and convince the gaffer to play him over either of them. Dragusin, will need to work harder and be more reliable at the back to get more regular playing time at Spurs and save himself from becoming a flop signing.
