FPL Tips: Three Forwards You Need to Transfer in for Gameweek 8 Including 'Selfless' Footballer

With the international break behind us, the fans of the English Premier League are getting ready for another exhilarating week of football. Last Word on Football brings you three forwards you should transfer into your Gameweek 8 squad, with the FPL deadline set for 11:00 AM BST on October 19.

Three Forwards to Transfer in for FPL Gameweek 8

Erling Haaland (£15.4m)

Erling Haaland has recently disappointed the FPL teams that selected him by failing to find the net in the last two games. This weekend, he has the perfect opportunity to make amends as Manchester City travel to the Molineux stadium to face Wolverhampton Wanderers.

Wolves have been shipping in goals left, right, and centre. With 21 conceded, they have the worst defence in the league. To make things worse, they will now have to withstand the attacking might of Haaland. The Norwegian will be aided by the likes of Bernardo Silva, Jeremy Doku, etc., as he looks to get back on the scoresheet.

Despite his mini goal drought, Haaland is the most selected player in FPL and also leads the ICT (Influence, Creativity, and Threat) index with a score of 91.8. Thus, choosing him for your Gameweek 8 squad will be a wise decision.

Dominic Solanke (£7.6m)

Dominic Solanke has kickstarted his Tottenham Hotspur career in an encouraging manner and will hope to continue the good work in front of the goal. The North London club’s new signing has two goals and an assist in his last three games.

West Ham United, whom Spurs host on Saturday, have somewhat struggled on the road this season. Their only away win came against 18th-placed Crystal Palace while the remaining two away fixtures ended in a draw.

The Hammers face a huge attacking threat in Ange Postecoglou’s men, who lead the league for xG and have scored just three short of topscorers City. A major reason for this impressive stat is Solanke’s ability to bring his teammates into the attack with his linkup play. He has proven to be “selfless” and thus, is more likely to be involved in Tottenham’s goals.

Liam Delap (£5.7m) – A Cost-Effective Option for Gameweek 8

Liam Delap’s low price tag and recent form have made him one of the most in-demand players on FPL this week. The former City striker has three goals in his last two games for Ipswich Town.

Delap faces Everton on the weekend and has a great chance of increasing his goal tally if the Toffees continue their poor defensive performances. They have conceded 15 goals so far, 3.1 more than their xGA (11.9).

Everton’s physicality might not be enough to contain Delap who stands at 6’1” and enjoys the physical aspect of the game. Available for just £5.7m, the Ipswich attacker should definitely be in your FPL plans for Gameweek 8.
