How Germany Have Lined-up Recently
In their last game against Bosnia and Herzegovina, the Germans lined up in their regular 4-2-3-1 formation, but injuries to a couple of key players meant that Julian Nagelsmann had to make some changes to his side.

The defence remained as strong as usual with debutant keeper Alexander Nubel protected by a backline of Joshua Kimmich, Antonio Rudiger, Johnathan Tah and Maximilian Mittelstadt. In front of them, Robert Andrich and Pascal Groß controlled the midfield – the latter enjoying his third consecutive start for the national team, matching a run that he last achieved back in October 2023.
With Kai Havertz and Jamal Musiala injured, the attack consisted of Florian Wirtz out on the left, Serge Gnabry on the right, Deniz Undav playing through the middle and Tim Kleindienst up front, the 29-year-old making his first start in a game which was also his national team debut.
Germany Recent Form and Tactics
The Germans’ match against Bosnia on Friday saw them win 2-1, with an Undav double in the first half ensuring they claimed all three points, despite Edin Dzeko’s 70th-minute strike which threatened to make the final 20 minutes rather tense.

Possession was the name of the game for Nagelsmann’s side, something we’ve been so accustomed to seeing during his tenure at the helm, as the Bosnians struggled to deal with the pass-and-move style of Germany’s play. Couple that with the form of Undav, who has four goals in six league matches for Stuttgart this season along with now three Nations League strikes, it was always going to be tough for winless Bosnia to stop a team who have scored the joint-second most goals in the competition (9).
Germany Injuries to Consider
Musiala, Havertz, David Raum, Robin Koch and Benjamin Henrich all remain out for the Netherlands match and now winger Chris Fuhrich is the latest player to join the list of absentees, signalling the end of his October international duty spell. Other than that, everyone else is fit and available for selection.
