Arsenal will be determined to kick on and maintain a winning consistency when they get back to action after the October international break against Bournemouth on October 19. However, before that, it appears that the Gunners have received a set-back when it comes to forward Gabriel Martinelli.
Arsenal Suffer Gabriel Martinelli Injury Scare
What Happened to Martinelli?

Arsenal have received a blow to their hopes of having Martinelli return from international duty in top shape. As per Fabrizio Romano, the Brazilian Football Confederation have confirmed the 24-year-old to be suffering from a calf injury and that “there’s small muscle edema in the area and he is undergoing treatment”. It’s also stated by the journalist that Arsenal’s medical team are in contact with their Brazilian counter-parts to stay updated on the winger’s condition after he complained of a pain in his right calf region and had to undergo an MRI for the same.
When Could Martinelli Return?
There still hasn’t been any definitive update of when Martinelli will be back to full fitness after sustaining this calf issue. He was seen in training at the weekend ahead of Brazil’s upcoming 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifier against Peru by wearing some tape on his calf and doesn’t look ready to play for his national team in their next game.

Arsenal will hope that his injury isn’t anything serious and that he can at least return to action for Mikel Arteta’s squad as soon as possible. They are already missing their inspiring captain Martin Odegaard due to an injury after he picked up the knock in the September international break. Kai Havertz was also forced to withdraw from this international break due to an injury. Martinelli, who was hailed as “unbelievable”, has scored two goals and provided as many assists in seven Premier League games so far this season.
