Fabrizio Romano has reported that the Reds are confident of completing an agreement with the Frenchman’s representatives over a new contract. It’s added that the club is optimistic that they can get the 25-year-old centre-back to sign a new deal very soon as “talks are progressing well’.
It’s further claimed by the journalist that Konate is going to sign the new deal soon and that he is considered a crucial part of the club’s future project. Romano also states that Slot really appreciates the quality of the defender after witnessing his admirable performances in the first few months of the campaign.
How Konate Has Helped Liverpool’s Bright Star Under Arne Slot
The 25-year-old defender didn’t start Liverpool’s opening game of the season against Ipswich Town, but has continued to impress since being brought on in the second half in that game. He’s since helped the Reds keep five clean sheets in seven Premier League matches and also keep a clean sheet in the UEFA Champions League.

Konate also scored in his side’s 3-1 win over AC Milan in the Champions League and recent 2-1 win over Wolves in the Premier League.
