Oxford United

Oxford United will be looking to continue their 100 per cent home record when Burnley visit Grenoble Road.

The U’s have beat Norwich, Preston and Stoke on their home turf but will face a difficult test when Scott Parker’s Clarets make the trip south.

Team News, Form and Prediction

Des Buckingham’s side lost at Bristol City last time out despite leading at the break. It means that Oxford have lost all three away games by a single goal but the performances have been pleasing, despite the results.

As for Burnley, they came from behind and netted a stoppage-time winner against Portsmouth. They have four wins and one defeat from their opening six league games as they look for an immediate return to the Premier League. Parker’s side are also the highest-scoring team in the division with 13 from their six league games.

Cameron Brannagan has been ruled out for six weeks following his injury against Stoke but Kyle Edwards made his return at Ashton Gate after signing a new deal. Josh McEachran went off in the first half against the Robins so he is a doubt, along with Matt Phillips and Przemyslaw Placheta.

Burnley are without several players, including Jordan Beyer, Aaron Ramsey, Nathan Redmond and Hjalmar Ekdal. Despite that, there is still plenty of quality within the ranks to cause problems for the U’s.

These two sides haven’t met since the 1999/2000 season when the Clarets did the double over Oxford. The U’s were unbeaten in their previous seven meetings, although that run spanned from 1982 to 1996.

Predicted line-up: Jamie Cumming, Greg Leigh, Ciaron Brown, Elliott Moore, Sam Long, Will Vaulks, Ruben Rodrigues, Idris El Mizouni, Siriki Dembele, Tyler Goodrham, Mark Harris.

Prediction: Oxford United 1-2 Burnley
