How Bayern Munich Have Lined Up Recently

Bayern began their match against Dinamo Zagreb as follows: Manuel Neuer was in goal. Alphonso Davies and Raphael Guerreiro took up their positions on the flanks of the back four. Meanwhile, Kim Min-jae and Dayot Upamecano played in the centre of the defence.
Aleksandar Pavlovic joined Joshua Kimmich in the holding midfield positions, as Serge Gnabry, Jamal Musiala, Michael Olise, and Harry Kane made up the front four.

In terms of personnel changes compared to the previous game, coach Vincent Kompany brought in Davies for the injured Sacha Boey, Pavlovic replaced Joao Palhinha, and Olise came in for Kingsley Coman.

Kompany has had to improvise on the right back position recently, due to two injuries to players in that position. However, apart from that, he has mainly just rotated the holding midfielder next to the ever-present Kimmich, as well as the offensive wingers from time to time. Bayern have a plethora of options for those positions.

Bayern Munich Recent Form and Tactics

The team have won each of their five matches in all competitions so far this season. The fear is, that kind of a record might cause a false sense of security to creep in, particularly because Bayern have yet to face top-level opposition this term.
That is about to change, with the match against Bayer Leverkusen coming up next week.

Tactically, Bayern’s high-pressing backline has enabled the team to attack with many players going forward. This has led them to score plenty of goals, but could also become a risk for opponents to exploit in the future.

Bayern Munich Injuries to Consider

Boey, Josip Stanisic, Hiroki Ito, and backup keeper Daniel Peretz all remain out.

Main keeper Neuer was substituted at halftime of the Zagreb game, due to a knock he had suffered in the match. However, Kompany admitted that it had been a precaution and assumed that the former German international would be able to play against Bremen, depending on training on Friday.
