Oxford United will be looking to make it three wins in succession when the U’s travel to Bristol City.
Des Buckingham’s side picked up home wins against Preston and Stoke either side of the international break but are still in search for their first points of the season away from home.
Oxford United Travel to Bristol City
Team News, Form and Prediction
Bristol City, who of course are managed by former U’s head coach Liam Manning, are without a win in three following successive 3-0 defeats against Derby and Blackburn respectively.
The Robins are also out of the Carabao Cup following a home defeat against Coventry and have just one victory from their opening six games in all competitions.
Having conceded ten goals in four games, Oxford United and their deadly attack will be looking to exploit this issue and get the home side on the back foot from the off.
Elliott Moore made his return from injury against Stoke but Buckingham is without Przemyslaw Placheta and Matt Phillips. Cameron Brannagan is also a doubt after he was forced off in the first half against the Potters.
Manning is without a few players, including Sam Bell, Ayman Benarous and former U’s defenders, Rob Dickie and Rob Atkinson.
Sticking with former players, Marcus McGuane is yet to make his Robins debut after his move from Oxford in the summer, but Mark Sykes and Luke McNally could all be involved against their former club.
The two sides met in the Carabao Cup last season but Manning, who was in charge of Oxford, saw his side lose 5-1 at Ashton Gate. Before that defeat, the U’s had failed to lose in Bristol on their last seven visits.
Predicted line-up: Jamie Cumming, Greg Leigh, Ciaron Brown, Elliott Moore, Peter Kioso, Josh McEachran, Idris El Mizouni, Ruben Rodrigues, Siriki Dembele, Tyler Goodrham, Mark Harris.
Prediction: Bristol City 0-2 Oxford United
