FPL Tips: Three Goalkeepers to Transfer in for Gameweek 5 Including ‘Brilliant’ Player

The Premier League is set to offer a list of exciting matches where lots of goals are expected. Last Word on Football brings you three goalkeepers who you should transfer into your FPL Gameweek 5 squad, with the deadline set for 11:00 AM BST on September 21.

Three Goalkeepers to Transfer in for FPL Gameweek 5

Alisson Becker (£5.5m)

After three successive clean sheets, Alisson Becker conceded his first goal of the new campaign last week against Nottingham Forest. However, the Brazilian has a great chance of getting his fourth clean sheet on Saturday against visitors Bournemouth.

Andoni Iraola’s men can be tricky customers, but Liverpool’s defence has enough pace and power to deal with Bournemouth’s attack. This should help Alisson to prevent shipping in goals. The Cherries haven’t had a great season so far, having won just one game.

Alisson has been impressive this season, especially in both away games, against Manchester United and Ipswich Town. He received bonus FPL points in both games, proving he is a vital cog on this Liverpool team.

Emiliano Martinez (£5.0m)

Emiliano Martinez is still waiting for that first clean sheet of the season. A home game against the struggling Wolverhampton Wanderers might be the right time to open his account. FPL contestants would do well to select the Aston Villa keeper given that most of the other fixtures are ones where we might witness numerous goals.

Martinez’s opponents on Saturday, Wolves, currently sit in the relegation zone. Unai Emery’s men will look to add more misery to them. The Villa defenders and Amadou Onana will offer enough protection for the Argentine shot-stopper to prevent the visitors from scoring.

Aaron Ramsdale (£4.4m) – A Cost-Effective Option for Gameweek 5

Aaron Ramsdale might be one of the best choices for FPL Gameweek 5, thanks to the tricky nature of the other fixtures this week. Ipswich Town, whom Southampton will face, haven’t been very prolific in front of goal after scoring just twice this campaign.

Despite ending up on the losing side in his two games with Southampton, Ramsdale had been quite “brilliant”. He made a total of 11 saves in those matches. Ipswich’s attack isn’t as strong as that of Manchester United or Brentford, the English keeper’s previous two opponents. So he can be expected to get his first clean sheet for the Saints this weekend.

Ramsdale getting selected by just 1.9% of the FPL teams should be an attractive fact for anyone trying to gain an advantage over other FPL players. They can use the former Sheffield United man to spring a surprise.
