Aston Villa are looking to continue their generally positive start to the season when Everton visit Villa Park for, what appears likely to be, a comfortable home win.

How Aston Villa Have Lined up Recently
Unai Emery could name an unchanged line-up for this one, assuming Ollie Watkins is ready to go, having withdrawn from the England squad due to injury.

Belgian duo Amadou Onana and Youri Tielemans will continue at the base of midfield, while Jhon Durán has scored the winner off the bench at both West Ham and Leicester, but will once again start the afternoon amongst the substitutes.
Aston Villa’s Recent Form and Tactics
In general, Aston Villa’s start to the campaign has been positive, claiming back-to-back away wins, both by the same 2-1 scoreline, with the hard-fought 2-0 defeat at the hands of Arsenal the only blot on their copybook, well on the field at least.

Emery has continued to deploy Leon Bailey and Morgan Rogers as inside-forwards, with the width provided by full-backs, and this remains an effective system.
With a trip to Bern, where they’ll take on BSC Young Boys, looming large on Tuesday, the club’s first European Cup fixture since March 16, 1983, Villa will want to get this game won as quickly as possible which, given how shambolic Everton have been, is a distinct possibility.
Aston Villa Injuries to Consider
Matty Cash sustained a hamstring injury early on against Arsenal three weeks ago so, assuming he’s still sidelined, Lamare Bogarde is likely to deputise, after debuting at Leicester, although Kosta Nedeljković is another option.
Elsewhere, Emi Buendía will be hoping to make his first Premier League appearance since May 2023, after rupturing his ACL in pre-season 13 months ago. The Argentine has been an unused substitute in all three games so far this season, but did play over 70 minutes, scoring twice, in an EFL Trophy victory at Rotherham last week, as he steps up his recovery.
