Duran looks set to stay at Villa for the long-term, and all parties are excited about it. Monchi revealed that Unai Emery is “very confident” in the youngster’s abilities, and believes that “he can become one of the best strikers in the world” in the next year. Why Is Jhon Duran So Crucial to Emery’s Project?
Duran is an incredible player and very important to Emery’s project at Villa Park. At just 20-years-old, he scored an impressive eight goals last season and already has two in the Premier League this campaign. He will undoubtedly become a great player, and would do so at any side.
However, the striker will particularly thrive at his current side and is very valued. He provides important backup to Watkins, who scored 27 last season and was pivotal to his team’s success. Mostly appearing off the bench this season and last season, he can use his explosivity to make an instant impact against tired defences, furthering his development and already winning his side four points in 2024/25.
