The journalist has confirmed that the deal is “done, completed” and that Slot’s side have been blessed with a quality youngster. They had to complete the Premier League’s strict five-step process for that. This is an investigative method used by the league’s representatives before any player from a youth academy can be registered for another club.

This can take 25 days to complete and sees the Premier League using a third-party member to have interviews with the players, their parents and both clubs to approve the deal. The clubs also have to prove to the Premier League that no financial or value-based elements have been agreed for an academy player to join another side. A club can be exposed to disciplinary action from the league if found guilty of breaching youth development rules.
