Ipswich Town 'in Advanced Talks' for Arsenal Player - Could Open the Door for Raheem Sterling to Arsenal

Fabrizio Romano has revealed that Ipswich Town are in advanced talks to sign 24-year-old Arsenal winger Reiss Nelson on loan. Romano also hints this deal could pave the way for a major incoming at the Emirates.

Reiss Nelson to Ipswich Could Launch Domino Effect

Nelson Deal Could Pave the Way for Sterling to Move

Ipswich Town are close to an agreement to bring in Nelson on loan for the rest of the season. The Arsenal academy graduate is set to move to Portman Road on a season-long loan without the option to make this a permanent transfer.

The winger’s game-time last season was limited despite the club competing in different competitions. Making his debut in 2017, the academy graduate only started once last season, making a further 14 appearances from the substitute bench. If the loan deal is completed Nelson will become the 13th signing for the club since their return to the Premier League.

Fabrizio Romano Talks Domino Effect

During his update regarding the Nelson to Ipswich deal, Romano revealed this deal could open the door for Raheem Sterling to join Arsenal from Chelsea. It has also been confirmed that Sterling has given the “green light” to Arsenal regarding the deal. His openness to the transfer could help facilitate the Nelson and Sancho deals.

If Sterling moves to Chelsea, it could provide the fresh start the England international needs to kick start his career after an underwhelming spell at Stamford Bridge.

Similarly for Sancho, a move could help kickstart his career that suffered last season at Old Trafford, before he enjoyed a productive loan back in the Bundesliga with Borussia Dortmund.

The Sancho deal is seemingly hinging on Chelsea meeting the conditions regarding a buy clause and salary coverage before they receive a green light to complete the deal.

This Nelson-Sterling-Sancho domino looks like it’s going to keep us all on the edge of our seats in these final hours of the 2024 summer transfer window.
