Chelsea have been buys in the 2024 summer transfer window and as deadline day advances they could get even busier. Raheem Sterling appears to be frozen out of the squad and hasn’t featured since pre-season ended, he could now be on the move across London.

On his live stream Fabrizio Romano commented that the English winger has given the “green light” to Arsenal to advance with a move. His openness to an exit is likely to make negotiations easier as the hours tick down on the window.

David Ornstein has a seperate report with some more details, he indicates that the Gunners are now in active negotiations to get the trnasfer done. He specifies that it will be a loan deal and with the player’s green light, there’s no issues expected on personal terms.

Sterling was signed for Thomas Tuchel as one of the first moves under Clearlake but things haven’t worked out for the former Manchester City and Liverpool man. Not only have the club been suffering on the pitch but he himself has been poor despite being one of the trusted veterans of the squad.
The Enllishman has seen himself fall out of favour at international level and hasn’t featured for his country since 2022. In that time the one-time prolific goalscorer has failed to hit double digits in the league, netting just six times in the 2022/23 competition although that did improve to eight in 2023/24.

If he moves to Arsenal, they will be getting an experienced winner, one who could help them over the line as they try to wina first Premier League title in a long time.
