After another week of exhilarating football, the Premier League returns on Saturday as Arsenal welcome Brighton & Hove Albion for the first game of the weekend. Last Word on Football brings you three defenders who should feature in your Gameweek 3 squad, with the FPL deadline set for 11:00 AM BST on August 31.
Three Defenders to Select for FPL Gameweek 3
William Saliba (£6.0m)
William Saliba had a terrific game last week against Aston Villa as he made crucial interventions to help his side keep a clean sheet. He has been impeccable with his positioning, which means there is less room for errors while defending.

Though his opponent on Saturday, Brighton, have been flying high, Saliba should be able to register another clean sheet. With David Raya guarding the goal behind him, the Seagulls will have a tough time finding the back of the net.
Saliba is also quite good at scoring from setpieces and might even score one against Brighton if his teammates manage to draw away Lewis Dunk during deadball situations.
Ezri Konsa (£4.5m)
Ezri Konsa might have been on the losing side in Gameweek 2, but he is still an excellent defender. He did manage to keep the title-chasing Arsenal at bay until the 67th minute.

His next game against newly-promoted Leicester City should be an easy one. The Foxes haven’t yet won a league game, drawing with Tottenham before losing to Fulham at Craven Cottage. Villa’s defence will be a tough nut to crack for them.
The major threat Konsa faces will be Jamie Vardy, but he is capable of keeping the 37-year-old quiet. Aston Villa have enough pace and physicality to deal with Leicester’s attackers, which should help the defender earn a clean sheet.
Antonee Robinson (£4.6m) – An Attacking Fullback for FPL Gameweek 3
Fulham and USMNT defender Antonee Robinson has been impressive this season and has consequently seen his FPL value increase by £0.1m within two game weeks. He has an attacking mindset and thus can score points courtesy of assists. He earned six in the league last season.

Robinson bagged an assist last week as he helped his side score a 70th-minute winner to beat Leicester 2-1. Fulham face newly-promoted Ipswich Town, who have played against two heavyweights, Liverpool and Manchester City. Having conceded six goals so far, Kieran McKenna’s men will be low on confidence, and the Cottagers should look to make full use of it.
Robinson has been selected by just 12.8% of the FPL teams. So, the ones who have chosen him for Gameweek 3 will definitely have an edge over the others.
