Liverpool are reportedly interested in Federico Chiesa, who has been heavily linked with a move away from Juventus during this transfer window. Chiesa has also been linked to Barcelona in recent days.
Liverpool Exploring Federico Chiesa Deal Amidst Barcelona Interest
Initial Approach: Liverpool Move for Federico Chiesa
Fabrizio Romano has revealed that there has been an initial approach for Chiesa. Liverpool are “exploring conditions” as they see the Italian winger as a “possible option”, though it’s clear from their slow movement in the window that they won’t settle for an unsatisfactory deal.

This comes after many rumours about the player leaving Turin; he hasn’t been in the squad for either of Juventus’ opening fixtures. The 26-year-old previously had interest from Tottenham Hotspur and is currently linked with a move to Barcelona. Juventus want to sell him, and he is personally keen on a Premier League move which may give the Reds an edge over the Blaugrana. The player himself has given his full availability and is excited about the potential move.
Where Does He Fit in?
This rumour may confuse some fans, as Arne Slot already has an abundance of wide players at his disposal. Mohamed Salah is of course a guaranteed starter on the right-wing, whilst Luis Diaz, Cody Gakpo, Diogo Jota, and Darwin Nunez are all capable of performing on the left to a very high standard.
Chiesa is also capable of playing as an attacking midfielder, but this also seems unlikely: Slot likes to play with two holding midfielders, meaning that Dominik Szoboszlai would be playing in the more advanced role.

The aforementioned four potential left-wingers, alongside Chiesa himself, are all between the ages of 25 and 27. If Richard Hughes was to complete this “exciting” signing, it is surely likely that one of the club’s forward assets would be leaving. However, at just €15 million this should be a low risk transfer.
