Liverpool Predicted Lineup Vs Crystal Palace for October 5

Liverpool play Brentford on August 25, in the late Sunday game. The match takes place from Anfield with Arne Slot hoping to continue his good start with another three points. Here is our Liverpool predicted lineup.

How Liverpool Have Lined-up Recently

Liverpool have lined up with a 4-2-3-1 under Arne Slot, providing a lot of stability with a double pivot.

Alisson Becker unsurprisingly started in goal against Ipswich Town. Andy Robertson started at left-back despite playing just 61 minutes in pre-season, whilst Trent Alexander-Arnold was at right-back. Jarell Quansah paired Virgil van Dijk at centre-back, though was hooked at half-time.

Ryan Gravenberch joined Alexis Mac Allister in the holding midfield with Liverpool yet to sign a number six. Dominik Szoboszlai played in a slightly more advanced role.

Luis Diaz and Mohamed Salah were the wingers, with Diogo Jota starting up front over Darwin Nunez.

Liverpool’s Recent Form and Tactics

Liverpool opened their Premier League season convincingly, with a 2-0 win away at Ipswich Town. They created six big chances, resulting in a healthy expected goals of 2.65. However, much like last season, they struggled with being clinical and saw some big opportunities wasted.

It was also a pretty slow start, with neither side doing much in the first-half. The Reds were much more dangerous and dominant in the second 45 minutes, during which they netted their two goals.

Slot’s double-pivot worked to effect, preventing Ipswich from causing a large threat to Alisson. The only real dangerous attack that they had was a fast break in the 20th minute that Alexander-Arnold defended very well.

When asked, prior to the Ipswich match, whether he has a fully fit squad, Slot replied: “Yes we have”. The main potential change would be starting Konate over Quansah, given their performances.

Joe Gomez was absent from the season opener due to transfer speculation and could be absent again.
