Joshua Kimmich joined Aleksandar Pavlovic in the holding midfield positions, as Serge Gnabry, Jamal Musiala, Mathys Tel and Thomas Müller made up the front four.

Bayern Munich Recent Form and Tactics

In addition to the German Cup success, the Bavarians emerged victorious in five of their six preseason friendlies. That does not tell us much about how their season will go of course. It does tell us that the current form of the team is good.

Tactically, coach Vincent Kompany has not changed much regarding the shape of his side. 4-2-3-1 still is the order of the day.

What does seem to be interesting though, is that Kompany has moved Alphonso Davies to the right-back position, almost anytime the Canadian international has played. Davies joined Bayern as an offensive winger, before being used as a left-back later on.

Bayern Munich Injuries to Consider

A change of position for the Canadian might be important, as Stanisic has been injured and will be out for weeks. Maybe, Davies can replace him for the time being. Meanwhile, Leroy Sané, Hiroki Ito, and backup keeper Daniel Peretz remain out as well.
