Enzo Maresca leads his side out on a Sunday for the second week in a row as he aims to get his first Premier League win as a manager. This is a Chelsea predicted lineup for that clash against Wolves as they look to find the right balance after a midweek clash with Servette.
Chelsea Predicted Lineup vs Wolves in Premier League Clash
How Chelsea Have Lined Up Recently
European competitions have thrown up some interesting starters but the eleven who took to the field against Manchester City gives us some indication of what the strongest lineup is in Maresca’s mind. Robert Sanchez played in goal with a back four of Malo Gusto, Wesley Fofana, Levi Colwill, and Marc Cucurella.
The midfield setup of Romeo Lavia at the deepest spot, Moises Caicedo, and Enzo Fernandez pulls together the expensive trio in a flexible manner and will likely be the go-to for most of the season.
Up front, Cole Palmer started on the right, Christopher Nkunku was on the left, while Nicolas Jackson started as the striker. Nkunku doesn’t feel very natural out wide so could make way for Pedro Neto or Joao Felix.

The changes were rung out for the Europa Conference League with a different shape and an almost entirely new eleven as Filip Jorgensen, Axel Disasi, Tosin Adarabioyo, Renato Veiga, Benoit Badiashile, Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall, Neto, Guiu, and Mykhailo Mudryk making their first competitive appearances.
Chelsea Recent Form and Tactics
Maresca has been flexible in his approach so far with a 3-2-4-1 inverted fullback build-up being eschewed for a 4-2-2-2 hybrid against Manchester City. The base shape is a 4-3-3 but moves and shifts depending on the roles assigned to players.

Pre-season didn’t go too well for the new coach with a big defeat against Celtic setting off some alarm bells, a draw with Wrexham didn’t help matters as the only win came against Club America. Two defeats to City, a loss to Real Madrid, and a draw with Inter capped off an interesting tour. The 2-0 win over Servette on Thursday was the first competitive clean sheet and saw the side score twice which is a move in the right direction.
Chelsea Injuries to Consider
Reece James is absent as he is serving a suspension for a red card last term but wasn’t fit enough to play Servette anyway.
