Chelsea have been intent on adding more and more depth to their squad and have made over ten new signings in the 2024 summer transfer window, with the recent-most being that of Joao Felix. It now appears that they remain interested in signing Napoli forward Victor Osimhen, but there are certain conditions.

What Will Chelsea Need for This Transfer?
Ben Jacobs has reported that the Blues are viewing the possible signing of the Nigerian forward as a late summer window deal and the discussions to sign him aren’t related with Romelu Lukaku links to Napoli. For the London heavyweights to complete the ambitious move for the Serie A ace, they’ll need him and his club to agree to certain conditions.

The journalist states that Osimhen has to agree on an initial deal to join Chelsea on loan for the 2024/25 season. If not, then they’ll need the Italian club to reduce the overall cost of the deal. It’s also added that the Blues currently do not have a fixed maximum wage structure for the Nigerian forward, but will need him to lower his current £250,000-a-week salary demands. Jacobs claims that the Premier League heavyweights are ready to offer him around £200,000-a-week, but he could earn more in bonuses if able to meet personal and team targets.
What Has Enzo Maresca Said of Victor Osimhen to Chelsea?
Amid the wait for Chelsea to make an official move for the Napoli striker, their head coach Enzo Maresca has fueled the speculation by refusing to call off any more transfers in the 2024 summer window. When asked about Felix’s signing and the possibility of getting more new players, the Italian recently stated: “Felix, he’s a talent. The club already knows him. More signings? Anything can happen, in terms of bringing and selling players”.

It appears to be clear that the new head coach is open to signing a quality centre-forward like Osimhen to add more firepower to his frontline. The Nigerian forward, who was hailed as a “top player” by Antonio Conte recently, is yet to totally make up his mind on his future after having a decorated career with Napoli and scoring 114 goals in 223 appearances for them.
