FPL Gameweek 1 Tips: Top Three Everton Players To Pick

Top 10 Everton Kits Of The Premier League Era

Everton host Brighton and Hove Albion in their Premier League season opener. Last Word on Football brings you three Everton players to consider for FPL gameweek 1.

Three Everton Players To Start For FPL Gameweek 1

Jordan Pickford – Goalkeeper (£5.0m)

Everton kept 13 clean sheets last season, in part due to Pickford’s excellence. He played in every Premier League match, finishing second in the golden glove race, three clean sheets behind Arsenal’s David Raya.

Starting the season priced at £5.0m, only £0.5m below the top tier, Pickford should be highly considered in a one or two-keeper strategy.

Jake O’Brien – Defender (£5.0m)

The former Lyon centre-back was signed over the summer transfer window for £17 million. A towering defender who will likely start in gameweek 1 in place of the injured Jarrad Branthwaite.

The Irish international scored four goals last season in Ligue 1 and joined a team that excelled at set pieces. The Toffees at one point in the campaign scored more goals from set pieces than open play. This reliance on deadball situations plays heavily into O’Brien’s strengths.

The Cork City youth product is a relatively unknown prospect for Premier League fans. This explains the fact that only 0.3% of teams have selected him despite the £5.0m price point.

Iliman Ndiaye – Forward (£5.5m)

Another summer signing who will likely start in week one. The Senegalese international underperformed in his one season in Marseille, where he was played across the front three under 3 different managers.

At Everton he will play in his preferred position as a second striker, competing with Abdoulaye Doucoure for the role. The last time that the Senegalese international played this role was at Sheffield United where he scored 14 goals along with contributing 11 assists in the championship two seasons ago.

Currently priced at £5.5m only 0.2% of teams have selected the forward. Ndiaye could be an early season swing that could pay dividends against those with a basic selection heading into Gameweek 1.
