Chelsea have been one of the most active clubs in the 2024 summer window and have already made over ten signings to bolster their squad. However, it now seems that they’re ready to sell some players to clear up the squad space and recuperate some of the money invested in new signings. They have named their price for Noni Madueke.
Chelsea Settle on Noni Madueke Transfer Value
How Much Will Chelsea Accept?
The Athletic’s Liam Twomey has reported that the Blues are actually open to the prospect of selling the English winger before the summer transfer window closes. This comes amid some reports of Newcastle United being interested in signing him to bolster their frontline for this season.

Twomey claims that Chelsea would consider offers in excess of £28.5 million over the potential sale of Madueke. They had paid that amount to sign him from PSV Eindhoven in 2022 and want to make a profit on that if forced to sell him. It’s also stated that former manager Graham Potter was one of the biggest advocates for signing Madueke at that time, but the English winger has failed to live up to the mark because of the various changes in management since his arrival.
Why Are Chelsea Considering Selling Noni Madueke?
Enzo Maresca is fortunate enough to have a pretty stacked squad for the 2024/25 season and that includes a lot of quality options in the frontline. Madueke is a natural right-winger, who can also play on the left, but both those positions already have a large number of options. Chelsea’s new signing Pedro Neto has been brought in to add more creativity through the wide areas and he thrives in the right-wing role. Cole Palmer is also at his best on the right, while Christopher Nkunku, Mykhailo Mudryk and Raheem Sterling fight for the left-wing spot.

Chelsea are also reportedly interested in bringing back Joao Felix from Atletico Madrid and that would further increase the depth in their wide areas. Their bloated forward line is why the club are open to selling Madueke, who hasn’t been able to match expectations in recent years. Even though he was hailed for his “unbelievable” performance in the Blues’ 2-0 win over Tottenham Hotspur last season, he’s failed to maintain consistency. He’s only scored nine goals and provided three assists in 46 appearances for Chelsea and might be forced to change clubs before the summer window closes.
