'Here We Go': Tottenham Complete Ambitious Deal for 'Incredible' Forward

Tottenham Hotspur are keen on giving Ange Postecoglou all the necessary ammunition to succeed in his long-term plan at the club. It now looks like they have struck a deal to sign Gangwon FC winger Min-hyuk Yang.

When Will Yang Join Tottenham?

Fabrizio Romano has given his “here we go” and confirmed that the Lilywhites have completed an agreement to sign Yang from South Korean top division club Gangwon FC.  It’s also added that the first part of the medical tests are “already booked” because Spurs want to ensure that the young winger is fully fit enough to complete the transfer and check out whether he is carrying any injuries, which is a protocol.

Romano states that the 18-year-old is expected to sign a long-term contract with Tottenham once he has completed his medical tests. It’s stated that he is expected to join the Lilywhites in January 2025 as the Premier League side have allowed him to stay with the Korean club until that period. He looks poised to become the third South Korean player to play for Spurs after defender Lee Young-pyo and current captain Son Heung-min.

What Can Yang Bring to Spurs?

The Lilywhites appear to have developed a keen interest to improve the youth core in the squad ahead of the 2024/25 Premier League season. They have already signed midfielder Archie Gray to improve their depth, but the signing of Yang is being eyed for more long-term results rather than solving any immediate needs.

The “sensation” has been praised for having “incredible pace” and impressive physical strength for someone so young. Yang is versatile, can seamlessly play on either wing, and has already made 18 appearances for South Korea’s U17 side. He has ten goal contributions (seven goals, three assists) in 24 appearances for Gangwon in the ongoing K-League 1 season and appears to be showing early signs of potentially being the ideal long-term successor to Son at Tottenham.
