Arsenal are looking to bring in some much-needed funds to balance the expenditure that will be incurred on new signings and have decided to part with defender Jakub Kiwior.

Calafiori to Replace Kiwior
According to Fabrizio Romano, Arsenal are ready to let Kiwior leave on the condition that it is either a permanent sale or a loan with an obligation to buy. But contrary to recent reports, the Gunners have not received any approach from Inter Milan for the defender so far and nothing has been agreed on the players’s side too.
The impending arrival of Riccardo Calafiori from Bologna could pose trouble for Kiwior’s Arsenal future by severely limiting his playing time. The Italian is a better defender and a passer of the ball than the Polish player. Hence, Mikel Arteta is expected to prefer the former in defence.

Kiwior joined Arsenal from Italian club Spezia in January 2023 in a deal worth £20 million. He has been a “reliable” option at left-back and is also capable of playing as a centre-back. The 24-year-old made 30 appearances in all competitions in 2023/24.
Arsenal’s Transfer Plans
The Gunners have so far seen some high-profile exits with the departure of Albert Sambi Lokonga, Nuno Tavares, and Mohamed Elneny. They have also turned David Raya’s loan move from Brentford into a permanent one.

Arteta’s side are making moves in order to improve on their status as runners-up in the past few campaigns. With some positions already locked down, they’re now assembling a supporting cast who can get them over the line and hopefully end Manchester City’s run of dominance.
In order to make moves like that, strong decisionmaking is needed. In this case, getting rid of a solid player like Kiwior is a good gamble due to the high ceiling of Calafiori.
