Has Leny Yoro Filled the Void?
Leny Yoro, another highly rated centre-back, is currently undergoing his medical for United as his transfer is all but confirmed. This could mean that their interest and demand for De Ligt is reduced.
However, with Raphael Varane and Willy Kambwala leaving the club, Manchester United do have fewer centre-backs. Last season, an injury crisis in this position saw five of them injured.
Regardless, it is possible to say that Yoro has filled the void. He would be a suitable partner for Lisandro Martinez, completely contrasting the Argentinian in height. Signing De Ligt would leave one of the three on the bench, stunting their growth and wasting valuable wages.
