When Are United Going To Decide On Amrabat’s Future?

Fabrizio Romano has reported that the Red Devils are going to make a decision on whether they want to sign the Moroccan midfielder on a permanent basis from Fiorentina or not. When they brought him on loan last year, there was a clause inserted into the deal that allows them to sign him for around £21.4 million from the Italian club this summer.

The journalist states that United will make that decision on whether to trigger that clause this week, following the conclusion of Euro 2024.  Romano states that the Premier League heavyweights’ decision is not clear yet, but that Amrabat himself has given a green light on the possibility of returning to Old Trafford on a permanent basis. The journalist adds that in any case, the Moroccan hopes to leave Fiorentina this summer as he doesn’t intend on playing for them any longer.

What Else Are United Working On?

The Red Devils have reportedly struck an agreement with Bologna for the signing of Dutch forward Joshua Zirkzee, who looks poised to be their first signing of the summer. On top of that, they are also rumored to have had a bid accepted for Lille defender Leny Yoro and are reported to have a strong interest in signing Bayern Munich star Matthijs de Ligt.

But United are aware of their need to improve the depth in their midfield, which is why they’re yet to make a decision on Amrabat. The 27-year-old midfielder, who was hailed as “extraordinary” for his heroics in the 2022 FIFA World Cup, made 30 appearances for the Red Devils last season and was also praised for his performance in the FA Cup final win over Manchester City.
