Manchester United will be hoping for a more successful Premier League campaign after having only managed an eighth-place finish last season. In this summer transfer window, they have already secured a vital bit of business regarding Erik ten Hag.
Manchester United Confirm New Contract for Erik ten Hag
What did ten Hag Have to Say About the Contract Extension?
The Red Devils have confirmed that the Dutch manager has extended his contract until 2026 to dispel all the questions surrounding his long-term future at the club. This comes after the United officials decided to retain him for at least another season following an end-of-season review after their FA Cup win in May.

Erik ten Hag has voiced his delight in signing a new contract to continue his journey at Old Trafford, saying: “I am very pleased to have reached agreement with the club to continue working together. Looking back at the past two years, we can reflect with pride on two trophies and many examples of progression from where we were when I joined.
“However, we must also be clear that there is still lots of hard work ahead to reach the levels expected of Manchester United, which means challenging for English and European titles. In my discussions with the club, we have found complete unity in our vision for reaching those goals, and we are all strongly committed to making that journey together.”
What Else Are United Working On?
The Red Devils are looking to improve their squad ahead of the new season. They are said to be in talks with Bayern Munich over the possibility of signing defender Matthijs de Ligt, who worked with Ten Hag at Ajax. United are also reportedly interested in signing Bologna forward Joshua Zirkzee to improve their frontline and enhance their goal-scoring potential for the upcoming campaign.

Ten Hag, of course, will have a major say on their summer transfer business. He has earned his contract extension after winning two trophies in as many seasons at Old Trafford, including defeating a strong Manchester City side to win the FA Cup last season, after which he was hailed as “extraordinary” by Pep Guardiola too. But he’ll look to ensure that United can strongly compete for a top-3 place in the Premier League next season and can win another trophy or two.
