The journalist adds that Arteta personally wants to stay and continue his project with the North London club and that Arsenal are “super excited” about this long-term project that is going really well under the manager.

The 42-year-old’s current deal expires in June 2025, which is why the two parties are pushing to get this matter out of the way so that the Spaniard can focus on helping Arsenal push for major trophies next season.

The team are reportedly close to signing David Raya permanently by activating the buy clause that was inserted when he was signed on loan from Brentford last year. They are also looking to improve certain areas of their squad, especially the forward line. The Gunners are reported to have an interest in Sporting CP forward Viktor Gyokeres, but are still not close to signing him anytime soon.

Arteta also reportedly wants to sign a new winger to add more quality to his frontline, but the Gunners are facing complications on that matter too. The Spanish manager will hope that his side can get their transfer targets secured before the 2024/25 Premier League season kicks off in August and that his contract situation is also resolved so that he can be fully focused on helping them finally win a big title under him in the upcoming campaign.
