Brazil Predicted Lineup Vs. Paraguay: Crucial Win Needed

Real Madrid team applauds fans following Champions League victory

Brazil goes head-to-head with Paraguay on June 29 at the Allegiant Stadium. This will be their second match of Group D at the Copa America 2024, with this fixture being a must-win for The Selecao as they need to assert dominance in their group as they are considered huge favourites to win this year’s Copa America. Their first match was more of a one-sided game as they controlled the match by dominating possession and having a total of 19 shots against Costa Rica, but Dorival Junior’s men failed to score. With both teams searching for their first win, here’s our Brazil predicted lineup for its clash against Paraguay.

Brazil Predicted Lineup Vs. Paraguay

How Brazil Have Lined-Up Recently

In their previous clash against Costa Rica, Junior made two changes in the starting lineup that featured in the 1-1 draw against the USA. Guilherme Arana replaced Wendell at left-back and Eder Militao came in for Lucas Beraldo at the heart of the defence partnering up with Marquinhos while Danilo remained solid at right-back.

The midfield trio of Lucas Paqueta and Bruno Guimaraes, Joao Gomes stayed the same. Notably, Gomes was replaced by Gabriel Martinelli in the 83rd minute. Two more substitutions were made in the second half with Savio and Endrick coming on for Raphinha and Vinicius Junior.

Brazil Recent Form and Tactics

The Selecao’s first game of Group D against Costa Rica can be best described as a frustrating one-sided game with Brazil dominating possession and having a total of 19 shots while their opponents struggled to get two shots through the team’s defence. The manager maintained his 4-3-3 formation as it hasn’t failed with their last defeat coming in a 1-0 loss against title holders Argentina back in November 2023.

The substitutes’ impact didn’t go unnoticed, particularly from Manchester City’s new signing Savio. Having only played 20 minutes of the game, he completed the most successful dribbles more than anyone on both sides (5). Both he and Endrick made their Copa America debut as substitutes, with the duo being candidates to start the match against Paraguay should Junior take a bolder approach towards the next game.

The Selecao will be confident going in their next game as they hope to bounce back and secure that crucial win as their previous clash against Paraguay ended in an emphatic 4-0 win.
