The journalist further states that the deal should be official “this week” and Aston Villa will be receiving a £19 million transfer fee for the England under-19 international. This is part of multiple transfers that are poised to happen between the two Premier League sides. That is because it’s also been reported that Unai Emery’s side are close to signing young defender Ian Maatsen to improve their squad as they get ready to play in the UEFA Champions League next season.

What Can Kellyman Bring To Chelsea?

The 18-year-old Englishman earned Chelsea’s interest with his impressive performances for the Villans last season. While he mostly played for their junior teams, Kellyman also made six appearances for Emery’s side and provided one assist in the UEFA Europa Conference League qualifier against Hibernian.

He has mostly earned his reputation thanks to performances for Aston Villa’s under-21 side, for whom he scored 11 goals in 26 appearances.

Kellyman is a natural attacking midfielder, but can also operate as a winger or a centre-forward if necessary. He is not only versatile but also technically impressive with his ability to dribble past defenders, make clever passes into the final third and score from tricky positions. The 18-year-old was hailed as an “absolute dream” last year and is likely to be a part of Chelsea’s senior team after he joins the club.
