Maresca’s name has been mentioned as one of Chelsea’s five primary targets to replace Mauricio Pochettino. A new report from Fabrizio Romano claims the Leicester boss is “very interested” in taking charge at Stamford Bridge ahead of the next season.

Romano believes hiring Maresca is a concrete possibility for Chelsea, while another report from Evening Standard has claimed the Blues are already in talks with the 44-year-old manager. However, the Blues are expected to take their time and assess their options for the vacant managerial job amid competition from other elite sides.

Rumours about Roberto De Zerbi and Ruben Amorim have cooled down in recent weeks, despite earlier reports claiming the pair were the main candidates to take the reins at Chelsea.

Meanwhile, Kieran McKennaThomas FrankMichel, and Sebastian Hoeness have emerged as the club’s preferred options alongside Maresca.

However, Chelsea might have to compete against Manchester United and Brighton to land their new manager, as all three sides appear to be targeting the same group of coaches. The Red Devils are linked with a move for Frank, while Brighton appear confident in their pursuit of McKenna.
