How Bayern Munich Have Lined Up Recently

Coach Thomas Tuchel continued his heavy rotation in Madrid midweek. Most of that had to do with the fact that the team was dealing with the worst injury and fitness crisis they have seen in decades. In the Spanish capital, Manuel Neuer started in goal. Joshua Kimmich and Noussair Mazraoui began on the flanks, while Eric Dier was the centre-back alongside Matthijs de Ligt. Konrad Laimer as well as Aleksandar Pavlovic played in the holding midfield roles.

Last but not least, Leroy Sané, Jamal Musiala, Serge Gnabry and Harry Kane were the front four, none of whom will be available against Wolfsburg, as Tuchel announced on Saturday.

There were five changes between the starting 11 of Madrid and the previous game in Stuttgart.

Alphonso Davies, Min-jae Kim, Raphael Guerreiro, Mathys Tel and Eric Maxim Choupo-Moting all made way for Mazraoui, de Ligt, Laimer, Sané and Musiala.

Bayern Munich Recent Form and Tactics

Considering how well the team played against Madrid, it seems surreal, but Bayern are again on a two-game losing streak. Given the incredible number of injuries and the sheer unimportance of the match, it is also difficult to imagine how they will line up, tactically or in terms of personnel.

Bayern Munich Injuries to Consider

Apart from the absences of Sané, Musiala, Gnabry and Kane – Kingsley Coman and Guerreiro will also miss the match. Meanwhile, Sacha Boey and Bouna Sarr returned to team training earlier this week.
