Tottenham To Make Key Decision On ‘Massive’ Star After Newest Injury Blow

Club Captain Injury Doubt: Tottenham Hotspur Predicted Lineup vs. Manchester United

Tottenham Hotspur are well aware their need to win all their remaining games of the 2023/24 Premier League season if they aspire to qualify for the UEFA Champions League and beat Aston Villa for the fourth spot. Unfortunately, there has been concerning news on the January signing Timo Werner.

Tottenham Poised To Decide On Werner’s Future

The German forward sustained an injury during the Lilywhites’ loss to Arsenal and he seems to have picked up a rather nasty knock that will not allow him to play any part in the final stretch of the 2023/24 season. Ange Postecoglou confirmed this at a recent press conference, revealing: “We’ve had a couple of injuries. Timo with his hamstring. As a result of this, the RB Leipzig loanee will not get any more opportunities to improve his chances of convincing the team to turn his loan deal into permanent in the summer. How Much Will The Werner Signing Cost Tottenham?

Fortunately for Tottenham, it actually won’t cost them that big of an amount to sign the versatile 28-year-old forward on a permanent basis. That is because Romano claims that the buy option clause on Werner’s loan contract allows them to sign him permanently for a fee of around £13.6 million if they want to do so.

To his credit, the German forward has actually had a pretty good loan spell with Tottenham and performed really well in the left-wing role. He was able to score two goals and provide three assists in 14 appearances, including goal contributions against Manchester United and Aston Villa.  Technical director Johan Lange also hailed him as a player with “massive experience”, something which this relatively young squad can benefit from in the long-term, but it remains to be seen if the club decides to green-light the move to sign him on a permanent basis.
