Liverpool Predicted Lineup Vs West Ham: ‘Creative Force’ Returns to The Side

How Liverpool Have Lined-up Recently

Alisson Becker has started in goal. Their strongest backline has recently been fit: Andy Robertson – Virgil van Dijk – Ibrahima Konate – Trent Alexander-Arnold (left-to-right).

Wataru Endo was on the bench last match, with Alexis Mac Allister the 6 (not for the first time this season). Dominik Szoboszlai and Curtis Jones accompanied him.

This season’s most common front three started against Everton: Luis Diaz – Darwin Nunez – Mohamed Salah.

Liverpool’s Recent Form and Tactics Ahead of West Ham Clash

Jurgen Klopp’s side most recently suffered an embarrassing 2-0 defeat to bitter rivals Everton. The match, at Goodison Park, ended 2-0 to the Toffees. This all but ends Liverpool’s title charge, sitting three points behind Arsenal and just a point ahead of Manchester City, who have two games in hand.

It was another performance that can be described as wasteful. Nunez and Diaz both fired ‘big chances’ straight at Jordan Pickford. We expect the Uruguayan to be replaced by Cody Gakpo, a strong finisher who is also a “creative force”.

As a team, an expected goals (XG) of 2.06 was accumulated, but nobody could beat England’s number one.

Whilst the away side dominated (as they have in many big losses this season), Everton were not kept quiet. Aside from the two goals, they also missed two big chances. An Everton penalty was even ruled out for a marginal offside by VAR.

The set-piece threat was real; Liverpool conceded from two and Alisson made a great save from a Dominic Calvert-Lewin header early on.

Goodison Park is not an easy place to go, and the Merseyside Blues were certainly up for it. However, losing 2-0 against a side that recently lost 6-0 to Chelsea is not good enough for a title-challenging squad.

Liverpool Injuries to Consider

On April 23, Klopp revealed that Diogo Jota would be out for “two weeks” after getting an injury during the Fulham match.

Conor Bradley should be back in training in the “first week of May”.
