How Bayern Munich Have Lined Up Recently

The team began their 1-0 triumph over Arsenal with captain Manuel Neuer back in goal. Joshua Kimmich and Noussair Mazraoui started on the flanks, as Matthijs de Ligt played centre-back alongside Eric Dier. Meanwhile, Leon Goretzka and Konrad Laimer returned as the side’s starting holding midfielders. Finally, Leroy Sané, Jamal Musiala, Raphael Guerreiro and Harry Kane made up the front four.

That means that coach Thomas Tuchel made five changes to the starting lineup that had begun the most recent domestic league game a week ago. Neuer, Laimer, Goretzka, Sané as well as Musiala came in for Sven Ulreich, Aleksardar Pavlovic, Thomas Müller, Mathys Tel and Kingsley Coman.

Tuchel made many changes in terms of starters recently, but during the game, he hardly made any substitutions. Against Arsenal, he only brought on two defenders late in the match.

Bayern Munich Recent Form and Tactics

Bayern’s most recent performances, going back to the first leg in the Champions League have been good. They are three matches unbeaten in all competitions, having won the last two. Yet, there are undoubtedly still problems in the team. The biggest one being the seemingly never-ending injury list, particularly due to reoccurring muscular issues with wingers like Serge Gnabry and Coman.

In terms of tactics, little will probably change. The team will continue to play an offensive version of the 4-2-3-1 formation. Tuchel will likely just want to rest some players when possible.

Bayern Munich Injuries to Consider

Gnabry and Coman remain on the injury list, as do Sacha Boey and Bouna Sarr. In his remarks to the media Friday, Tuchel also added that he would likely leave out Sané for the Union game, due to the German international’s continued pain in recent months. That leaves very few options on the wings.
