Tottenham Could Face Competition From Manchester United for ‘Extremely Skilled’ 15-Goal Ace

Club Captain Injury Doubt: Tottenham Hotspur Predicted Lineup vs. Manchester United

Tottenham Hotspur have made a bunch of exciting signings under Ange Postecoglou and were quite active in the 2024 January transfer window, signing defender Radu Dragusin and Timo Werner (on loan). Now, it seems that they have an eye on bringing another Swedish player to the club in Roony Bardghji.

Which Clubs Are Scouting the Swede Alongside Tottenham?

Fabrizio Romano has confirmed that the Lilywhites have sent their scouts multiple times to follow the progress of the 18-year-old winger but that the likes of Manchester United and Barcelona are both scouting the FC Copenhagen youngster extensively as well ahead of the summer transfer window.

That means Spurs could face competition for his possible signing in the summer if they wish to improve their frontline with another Swedish player, with his countryman Dejan Kulusevski performing well under Postecoglou.

Despite impressing for FC Copenhagen this season and even scoring against the Red Devils in the UEFA Champions League, Bardghji hasn’t been playing much for Copenhagen and Romano has also weighed in on this, as he wrote on his CaughtOffside column: ” According to my information, it’s because the player has no intention of signing a new deal at Copenhagen. This is the situation as of now, his current contract expires in December 2025. So it means that if nothing changes in the summer, he will be available with 18 months left on his contract.”

What Can Roony Bardghji Bring To Spurs?

After making an impressive impact against United earlier in the campaign, Bardghji has managed to turn a lot of heads towards him. The 18-year-old is a proactive right-winger who can also operate as an attacking midfielder and play more centrally if required. He has been praised for being “extremely skilled and versatile” and earned the nickname of “Swedish Messi” as he has a similar style to the Argentine icon.

Bardghji is probably being eyed as a long-term successor or understudy to Kulusevski, whose presence can help him blend in at Spurs easily. The Copenhagen star has the creativity and goal-scoring prowess, having scored 15 goals for the Danish club at such a young age, to excel in Postecgolou’s system and has shown potential to be a big thing in the future.

Yet, it remains to be seen if Tottenham make a move for him after the extensive scouting and if they can get him ahead of their competitors.
