The journalist adds that he understands United have already prepared a new contract proposal for Mainoo to tie him down to a new deal. It is added that the Red Devils want him to be a crucial part of their future project and are also ready to give him a salary increase, with his current wage package rumoured to be just around £10,000-a-week.
The 18-year-old’s current deal does not expire until June 30, 2027, but Erik ten Hag’s side are eager to reward his performances with a new deal and tie him down to the club for a long time.
