‘I Definitely Feel’: ‘Excellent’ Star Confirms Desire to Stay at Tottenham

Tottenham Hotspur had quite the eventful 2024 winter transfer window in which they were able to improve their squad with the signing of Timo Werner and Radu Dragusin, and it now appears that they will be retaining midfielder Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg for at least the end of this season.

There has been a lot of speculation over the future of the Danish midfielder at Tottenham, as he got linked to a possible move to Atletico Madrid last summer and a potential exit in the January window. However, Hojbjerg has since rubbished claims that he wants a deadline-day move and has pledged his loyalty to Ange Postecoglou’s side.

He said: “I’m not leaving Spurs on Deadline Day. I definitely feel I can help the team. The key is that we are playing for something. I always said in the past like I say now, what drives me is the purpose of fighting for something and I definitely feel that Tottenham is fighting for something.” This comes just after Tottenham kept their Premier League top-4 charge alive with a compelling 3-2 win over Brentford a day before the end of the winter window.

Tottenham Unlikely to Sign Conor Gallagher

After the admission from Hojbjerg confirming his stay at Tottenham, it’s now clear that Spurs will not be able to make a move for their rumoured target, Chelsea midfielder Conor Gallagher. They could, of course, go back to sign him later in the summer transfer window, but any deal Does not seem possible to get done before the transfer deadline.

Hojbjerg has started to gain more game-time as the 2023/24 season has dragged on and produced some impressive performances for Spurs. He was praised for doing an “excellent” job in Tottenham’s 3-3 draw with Manchester City earlier this season and has made 24 appearances for the Lilywhites, being readily available for selection and fitting in well at Postecoglou’s side.
