Tottenham Fail to Land Their Transfer Target – Contract Runs Out in 2025
Spurs were heavily linked to Gallagher throughout the window and it was reported that the management really likes the player. However, the Lilywhites never actually made an official bid to Chelsea for the player, as reported by Romano. There was no approach from any other club as well for the Blues’ “powerhouse“. Ange Postecoglou is said to be a huge fan of the player and could potentially return for the player at the end of the season.

This is mostly down to the fact that Gallagher’s contract ends in 2025. With just one year remaining on his deal at the end of the season, Tottenham might look to capitalise with Chelsea trying to cash in on the player and avoid losing him on a free transfer. This is, however, a speculation as a lot of it will be determined by the players’ desires.
Chelsea and Tottenham’s Transfer Window So Far
The Stamford Bridge-based side has not made any signings in the January transfer window. Their operations have been mostly related to the outgoings. Ian Maatsen and David Datro Fofana have both left the club on loan for Borussia Dortmund and Burnley respectively.
Unlike their city rivals, Tottenham have made two big signings in the ongoing transfer window. Radu Dragusin has been signed from Genoa for a fee close to £22 million. Tottenham have also brought in former Chelsea striker, Timo Werner on loan to bolster their attack.
