Update on Sensei Deal

Monday evening brought the news that Foxes fans had been waiting for in the past months. Italian journalist Fabrizio Romano tweeted: “Leicester City and Inter decided today to close Stefano Sensi deal on permanent transfer.” Rumours had swirled for weeks if the Italian would be heading to England or staying in Milan. Sky Sports have also reported: “One or two other issues need to be addressed before Leicester are prepared to commit.”

Romano states that the personal terms between Leicester and Sensi are agreed upon. The Italian also noted. “It will be permanent move with fixed fee.” Should the Foxes gain promotion back to the Premier League, it would raise the total price of the transfer to just over £2 million.

Stefano Sensi Career Recapped

The midfielder graduated from the youth academy of the now-dissolved AC Cesena. After making his senior debut with them – he was loaned to San Marino FC, a Sammrinese outfit which competes in the Italian Football League System. Sassuolo purchased him in 2016. Sensi became a regular in 2019 and drew the attention of Inter. He was loaned to them for a year before completing a permanent move in 2020.

Sensi’s first two years in Milan saw him prove how much of “a difference-maker” he can be. Inter won the Serie A title and Supercoppa Italiana crown in 2021. Injuries saw him exiled from the senior squad, but loan moves to Monza and Sampdoria ensured he remained in Italy. Now, Enzo Maresca is close to being able to use his skills to help get Leicester back to the Premier League.
