‘He Is Not Excluded’: £250K P/W Player’s Agent Clarifies Stance on Manchester United Future

‘Erik ten Hag Not the Only Reason’: Manchester United Signing Reveals Motivation for Joining: Matthijs De Ligt

Manchester United have struggled for goals in the Premier League this season and scored the fewest goals for any side in the top half of the table. They’ve not been helped by the lack of contributions from forwards like Anthony Martial, whose future at the club has been thrown in doubt over the last few weeks.

Manchester United Will Not Sell Anthony Martial In January

What Did Martial’s Agent Say About His Future?

After some reports claimed that the French striker was now being made to train all on his own away from the first-team squad after being out of action for a few weeks, his agent was forced to clarify what was happening with Anthony Martial at Old Trafford. Philippe Lamboley told Sky Sports: “Anthony will not leave [in January]. He will stay until his contract ends in June. What is said about him is completely false.”

“He is not excluded from the group and he has no problem with the coach. He is simply going to undergo a small operation on his abductors which he should have done for a while.” This suggests that Martial is suffering from an injury that is likely to keep him out of action for even longer if he undergoes a procedure.

Are United Going To Keep Martial For Long?

The Red Devils have reportedly decided that they will not be intending to extend Martial’s current contract, which expires at the end of June. It has also been reported that the Frenchman, who is on £250,000 per-week rejected approaches from multiple clubs earlier in January and wants to remain at Old Trafford for the entirety of the 2023/24 campaign.

The 28-year-old striker, who arrived at United in 2015, has been a frustrating figure for many fans. Even though has scored 90 goals and provided 55 assists in 317 appearances for the Red Devils so far, Martial has been inconsistent and troubled with injuries over the last few years too. The Frenchman has made 19 appearances for Erik ten Hag’s side this season, only scoring two goals and providing two assists in that period.
