Henderson Will Travel to Amsterdam Soon for Medical
The former Reds’ captain is about to complete a move to Ajax according to the Italian journalist. The Amsterdam-based club have reached an agreement with the player’s entourage and only formalities are left to be completed. The player will travel in the coming hours to complete his medical tests and sign the paperwork.
David Ornstein provided an update on the transfer Saga confirming the player’s departure. Ornstein reported that the midfielder reached an agreement with the Saudi Pro League side to leave. The process of contract termination was finalised earlier in the week.

The former England international was on the radar for multiple clubs once it became clear that he could be on the move. Juventus were one of the clubs interested in acquiring the former Liverpool man. However, the Dutch side are in the pole position to bring him to the Johan Cruyff Arena.
Why did Henderson Leave Liverpool?
The Englishman left Merseyside to move to Al-Ettifaq in the 2023 summer transfer window. Less than six months after the move, he is now keen on a move back to Europe.
It is very clear that Liverpool’s Champions League-winning captain has not adapted well to life in Saudi Arabia. In a recent interview, the midfielder hinted that he was reluctant to move away from the Reds. However, the 33-year-old felt that he was not needed by Jurgen Klopp.

In his interview with The Athletic, Henderson revealed that he felt unwanted at the Premier League club. He said: ““If one of those people (Klopp or FSG) said to me, ‘Now we want you to stay’, then we wouldn’t be having this conversation. That’s not to say that they forced me out of the club, but at no point did I feel wanted by anyone to stay”
