Manchester United have now moved into an era where Sir Jim Ratcliffe’s contingent will be responsible for overseeing the football operations at the club after he acquired 25% of the ownership stake in the franchise. It now appears that the new co-owner has a fond liking for Crystal Palace winger Michael Olise.

Olise Targetted To Be One Of The First Signings In Jim Ratcliffe Era
The Evening Standard’s Nizaar Kinsella reports that the Red Devils want to sign the English winger in the summer transfer window. He adds that the team want him to be one of the first signings of the Ratcliffe era and is someone whom the insiders at the side feel can revitalize their currently woeful attack.
They may face competition from Liverpool who were reportedly on a “transfer mission” to see the player quite recently. The youngster is currently valued at £43 million according to Transfermarkt.

Kinsella notes that a possible move for Olise in the January transfer window is ruled out as the Eagles have no desire to sell him anytime soon. However, it is further revealed that they have identified him as a major target for the summer transfer window and are aware that the”release clause comes into effect” on his new contract in the summer. However, the 22-year-old’s current clause is much higher than the £35 million it was last summer.
What Can Olise Bring to Old Trafford?
Erik ten Hag has experienced major headaches when it comes to his side’s attacking prowess this season and they have been specifically poor in creating chances through the right flank. Antony has not had a single goal contribution this season and Jadon Sancho, currently exiled from the first-team squad, is being linked to a loan move to Borussia Dortmund.
That is probably why the club is eyeing a move for Olise, who has been an explosive figure for Crystal Palace in recent weeks. He has scored four goals in his last five Premier League appearances for Roy Hodgson’s side and earned a reputation for being a menacing winger. The 22-year-old is a set-piece specialist, can create chances from the right and also score goals efficiently in and around the box.
The Englishman, who was as praised as a “special talent” last season, will need to continue his goal-scoring heroics until the end of the campaign to ensure that United make a prominent move for him in the summer.
