Romano noted: “Personal terms agreed and documents being exchanged soon.” Scarpa last played in Brazil with Palmeiras, whom he joined Forest from, in the 2022 season. He spent a total of nine years in the Brazilian football league system before his short stint in Europe with the Tricky Trees and Olympiacos.

Scarpa netted 71 goals before joining Forest. When he signed on, the initial deal had him staying at City Ground until 2026. A lack of playing time, due to poor form, led to a loan move to Greece. Even with Olympiacos, though, the midfielder has been unable to assert himself into a starting role.

Now, with only ten appearances for Forest under his belt, he becomes the first departure following Cooper’s sacking.
