When Could Richards Start Chelsea Career?
Fabrizio Romano has confirmed that Jamaican side Phoenix All Stars’ forward Dujuan Richards is close to joining up with the Chelsea squad. He joined the West London club in March after the Stamford Bridge club were impressed with his development.

The journalist adds that the teenager is not at their Cobham training facility yet and has yet to start his work with the club. However, he states that Richards is “preparing his travel to London” after turning 18, allowing him to start training with Mauricio Pochettino’s first-team squad. The forward is now ready to embark on a new chapter after breaking through at Pheonix All-Stars.

Can Richards Improve Chelsea’s Goal Threat?
The Blues are experiencing goal-scoring issues this season, having only scored 17 goals in 11 Premier League matches. They have been linked with a move for Brentford striker Ivan Toney in January, but there is still no confirmation if they want to move for him in the winter window.

Richards will be training with the senior squad, but he faces an uphill task to feature for the first team. He is still inexperienced in Europe and has only played in Jamaica. The 18-year-old has scored one goal in seven international appearances for Jamaica and is described as someone who can be “unstoppable” if able to fulfil his potential. The forward’s ability against Europe’s best is still unknown, and it remains to be seen if he can progress to become an important squad player for Chelsea.
