When Could Nkunku Make Premier League Debut?

Fabrizio Romano states that he understands that the London giants will “take no risks” with Nkunku’s return and have no plans on fast-tracking him back to action from the nasty injury suffered in the pre-season tour of the USA. They are now not insistent on rushing their star summer signing back into action imminently.

The journalist adds that Nkunku’s comeback is not expected to happen in their crucial match against Manchester City at the weekend. The Frenchman will not be able to play against the defending Premier League champions right now, but he is working on regaining full fitness.

Romano further claims that Chelsea are still planning to give the winger more time to get back to full fitness and are envisioning a return to action for him after the November international break. That means if everything goes well, then Nkunku could make his Premier League debut for the Blues in their game against Newcastle United on November 25.

What Do Chelsea Have To Say About Nkunku?

Mauricio Pochettino teased fans about the possible return of the attacker earlier than it was predicted in a press conference last month, saying: “He is doing really, really well. He is really close (to returning). Maybe after the international break, he will be involved. Maybe, maybe, not sure.”

Since this, the Frenchman has been seen in training and is upping his workload on the road to recovery. The club have confirmed that Nkunku is back working on the bike in the gym and making fast progress on a return to full fitness. The 25-year-old, who was hailed as “special” last year, could provide a major boost to Chelsea’s attacking line as the club are hopeful that their goal-scoring and creativity issues will be solved after his return.
