Chelsea Keeping Close Eye on Ivan Toney Situation

Is Ivan Toney Ready for January Transfer Move?

Fabrizio Romano claims that Ivan Toney is now ready to leave Brentford in the January transfer window and that many clubs are monitoring his situation. He adds that Chelsea and Arsenal are informed and “they know his situation very well,” and that the Englishman is willing to move to a top club in the next transfer window.

Toney is currently suspended from playing football but is able to train with his Brentford teammates. He will be allowed to play competitive football after the turn of the year, and Romano claims that a January deal will depend on how much the clubs interested in him are willing to pay. The journalist reiterates that it will cost any club £60 to £65 million to sign him from Brentford, who will seemingly not let their prized possession leave for cheap.

What Kind of Competition Can Chelsea Expect for Toney?

Romano adds that it remains to be seen if Chelsea are going to really “attack” the situation around Toney and make a move for him in the January window. He also namechecks Tottenham Hotspur as another team that could be interested in Toney.

It is clear that the Blues can expect a lot of competition if they are interested in making a move for the 27-year-old. Toney hailed as “remarkable” last season by Brentford manager Thomas Frank, was one of the Premier League’s most prolific strikers last season, scoring 20 goals and providing four assists in 33 Premier League appearances.
